A fiend is an evil creature created in the Fiendish Planes, also called the Lower Planes (the Nine Hells, Gehenna, Tarterus, Pandemonium, Hades, Acheron, or the Abyss). These planes may also be considered the Stygian Planes in that they are all connected by the River Styx.
